The Pullner PLM groove type melt blown filter cartridge is a depth pre-filter for industrial process liquids and water treatment lines carrying high solids or viscous fluids, where a smooth-surface cartridge clogs early. This grooved surface melt blown filter cartridge is made of 100% polypropylene (PP) and rated 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, 30 or 60 µm. It has a 63 mm outer diameter, lengths from 5″ to 40″, DOE or SOE end caps, a suggested flow of 1–5 GPM per 10″ element and an 80°C temperature limit. On high-solids or viscous liquids, a smooth melt blown cartridge loads at its outer face first. The surface blinds, differential pressure climbs, and the element comes out while much of its depth is still unused. The groove type PLM cartridge has slots cut along its outer surface. They add face area for coarse particles to settle into before the fluid reaches the finer inner layers.
The media is 100% polypropylene, melt blown into a graded depth structure on a 63 mm outer diameter. Grades are 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, 30 or 60 µm, in 5", 10", 20", 30" and 40" lengths. End caps are DOE or SOE (226 fin, 226 flat, 222 fin, 222 flat) with silicone, NBR, Viton or EPDM seals, so the cartridge can be matched to the housing already in service. Maximum differential pressure is 4 bar at 21°C and 2.4 bar at 80°C.
The PLM series comes in three surface types on one specification. Choose the groove type for dirty or viscous feeds, the orange-peel surface where the element needs rigidity under differential pressure, and the mini-grooved surface for a finer polishing stage. Can the PLM groove type cartridge replace the melt blown cartridge we run now?
It is a replacement option where your housing takes a 63 mm OD cartridge in 5" to 40" lengths with DOE or SOE end caps. Send the current model, end cap and seal type. Engineering confirms dimensional fit first; performance on your fluid is confirmed by a sample or trial.
How is it validated before switching?
Start with a fit check against your housing, then run a sample on the actual feed. Compare differential pressure rise, change-out interval and downstream quality against the cartridge in service. Scale the order only after your team accepts the trial result.
