Stainless Steel High Flow Water Filter
Stainless steel is specified when something about the duty rules out a polymer element: a working temperature above what polypropylene or polyester will hold, a cleaning regime the element has to survive rather than be replaced after, or a pressure the housing and element have to share. It is not specified because it lasts longer in general terms, and any supplier who sells it that way is guessing at your process.
The PHFLH covers grades from 0.1 to 100 µm in the high flow format. Several construction details on this series are configured per application rather than held as a catalogue item, so the full specification is issued against the duty rather than published as a single sheet.

- High temperature duty: above the ceiling of a polymer element.
- Cleanable service: where the element is cleaned rather than replaced.
- High pressure systems: where element and housing share the load.
- Industrial water: high flow prefiltration.
Three conditions justify the cost. Anything else and a polymer element does the same job for less.
- Working temperature above roughly 120 °C. Past that, polyester and glass fibre constructions are out and metal is the remaining option.
- The element is cleaned, not replaced. Where a change-out means opening a contained system, an element that can be backwashed or chemically cleaned in place changes the operating model rather than just the consumable cost.
- Element and housing share the pressure. Some high pressure arrangements load the element directly, and a polymer pack will deform where a metal one will not.
Durability on its own is not a reason. A stainless element on ordinary ambient water duty is capital spent to solve a problem the application does not have.
This series is configured against the duty rather than picked from a table, so the enquiry carries more weight than usual. Send:

- Flow rate and the differential pressure available
- Required micron grade
- Housing make and model, or the dimensional envelope
- Whether the element will be cleaned in service, and by what method
- Any code or material certification the site requires
