Orange-Peel Melt Blown Filter Cartridge, PLM Series
The Pullner PLM orange-peel melt blown filter cartridge is a melt blown cartridge with orange texture: a dimpled outer surface that adds mechanical strength and rigidity under elevated differential pressure. It is used for pre-filtration of high-viscosity industrial process liquids. The media is 100% polypropylene (PP), rated 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, 30 or 60 µm, on a 63 mm outer diameter in 5″ to 40″ lengths. Maximum differential pressure is 4 bar at 21°C and the temperature limit is 80°C. Send your current model or duty for a fit check and quote.

The orange-peel melt blown cartridge uses a textured, dimpled outer surface for enhanced mechanical strength and pressure resistance. Its dimpled profile provides additional structural rigidity under elevated differential pressure, which suits high-viscosity liquids and duty where the pressure across the element runs high within its rating.
The problem it addresses is deformation. A depth cartridge pushed by a thick fluid or a steep pressure drop can compress, and a compressed depth structure no longer holds its grade. The orange-peel texture stiffens the outer face without changing the media: 100% polypropylene, graded 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, 30 or 60 µm, on a 63 mm outer diameter in 5", 10", 20", 30" and 40" lengths.
End caps are DOE or SOE (226 fin, 226 flat, 222 fin, 222 flat), with silicone, NBR, Viton or EPDM seals. Rated limits are 4 bar at 21°C and 2.4 bar at 80°C. The orange-peel cartridge shares the PLM specification with the groove type, used on high-solids feeds, and the mini-grooved surface, used for finer polishing. See the full melt blown filter cartridge range, or match it to industrial filter housings.

Aplicaciones
- Pre-filtration of high-viscosity process liquids
- Lines where differential pressure across the element runs high within its 4 bar rating
- Protection of pleated or membrane final filters downstream
- Industrial water pre-filtration where cartridge rigidity matters
Who it is for
Process engineers and maintenance teams filtering viscous liquids, or running lines where cartridges deform under differential pressure before they are fully loaded.
Typical operating conditions

Can the PLM orange-peel cartridge replace the melt blown cartridge we run now?
It is a replacement option where your housing takes a 63 mm OD cartridge in 5" to 40" lengths with DOE or SOE end caps. Send the current model, end cap and seal type. Engineering confirms dimensional fit first; performance on your fluid is confirmed by a sample or trial.
How is it validated before switching?
Start with a fit check against your housing, then run a sample on the actual feed. Compare differential pressure rise, change-out interval and downstream quality against the cartridge in service. Scale the order only after your team accepts the trial result.
What data or documentation is available?
This page publishes the micron grades, media, dimensions, end caps, seals, flow, pressure and temperature limits. Pullner manufactures under ISO 9001. Ask engineering which inspection or test records can accompany your order before you request a sample.
What are the operating limits?
Maximum temperature is 80°C. Maximum differential pressure is 4 bar at 21°C, falling to 2.4 bar at 80°C. The media is polypropylene, so confirm chemical compatibility for your specific fluid, concentration and temperature. The cartridge is rated for liquid service.
What is a melt blown cartridge with orange texture?
It is a melt blown polypropylene cartridge with a dimpled, orange-peel outer surface. The texture adds mechanical strength and rigidity under differential pressure without changing the media. Pullner's PLM orange-peel cartridge is rated 1 to 60 µm on a 63 mm OD, up to 80°C.
What is the minimum order and lead time?
Standard minimum order is 1000 pieces and standard lead time is 15 working days. Send the length, micron grade, end cap and seal material with your inquiry so the quote matches the exact configuration.
