114 mm Large Diameter String Wound Filter Cartridge, PLX Series
The PLX 114 mm Large Diameter String Wound Filter Cartridge is a polypropylene depth cartridge for water and process liquid lines that carry a heavy sediment load. Its 114 mm outside diameter holds more depth media per element than a standard-diameter cartridge. Ratings are 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 µm, in 10″ and 20″ lengths with double open ends. Suggested flow is 1–5 GPM per 10″, with a temperature limit of 80°C and a maximum differential pressure of 4 bar at 21°C or 2.4 bar at 80°C. Media is polypropylene only. Send your housing model, current cartridge and duty for a fit check and quote.

On lines with a heavy sediment or particle load, standard-diameter cartridges load quickly and need frequent change-out. A larger outside diameter puts more depth media into each element. The PLX is a 114 mm string wound polypropylene cartridge built for that duty.
String wound construction filters through the depth of the winding rather than at one surface, so solids are held through the element's thickness. The PLX is rated 1, 5, 10, 20 or 50 µm, in 10" and 20" lengths with double open ends (DOE). Suggested flow is 1–5 GPM per 10" of length. Media is polypropylene only, with a temperature limit of 80°C and a maximum differential pressure of 4 bar at 21°C, falling to 2.4 bar at 80°C.
The PLX needs a housing built for 114 mm elements, so confirm the housing before ordering. For standard-diameter options see the cartucho filtrante bobinado range, and for finer surface-loading stages downstream see cartuchos filtrantes plisados. Send the housing model and duty, and Pullner engineering will confirm the grade and length.
Características principales
- 114 mm outside diameter — more depth media per element than a standard-diameter cartridge.
- Five ratings — 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 µm.
- Polypropylene media — string wound PP depth construction.
- Two lengths, DOE — 10" and 20" lengths with double open ends.
- Defined operating envelope — 1–5 GPM per 10" suggested flow; 4 bar at 21°C or 2.4 bar at 80°C maximum differential pressure; 80°C limit.
- ISO 9001 manufacturing — produced under an ISO 9001 quality management system.
Aplicaciones
- Industrial water prefiltration — sediment removal on lines with a heavy particle load.
- Process liquid prefiltration — protecting finer cartridge stages downstream.
- Large-diameter housings — systems built around 114 mm elements.
Who it is for
Plant O&M and process engineers, and system integrators, running large-diameter cartridge housings on water or process liquid duty with a heavy sediment load.

Can the PLX replace the 114 mm cartridge we use now?
It can be reviewed as a replacement option. The PLX is 114 mm in outside diameter, 10" or 20" long, with double open ends. Send the current cartridge model and housing details, and Pullner confirms dimensional fit before recommending a change.
How is it validated before switching?
Validation runs in three steps: a fit check against your housing and current element, a sample on your own line, and a performance trial under your operating conditions. Pullner does not claim performance parity with an incumbent element until that trial data exists, and a switch is recommended only after the trial.
What data or documentation is available?
The published specification on this page covers micron rating, media, diameter, length, end cap, flow, differential pressure and temperature. Cartridges are made under an ISO 9001 quality management system. Ask engineering for any further documentation your validation procedure requires.
What are the temperature and pressure limits?
The PLX is polypropylene only and rated to 80°C. Maximum differential pressure is 4 bar at 21°C, falling to 2.4 bar at 80°C. It is not for service above 80°C; send the duty to engineering if your line runs hotter.
What is a large diameter string wound filter cartridge used for?
It is used where a standard-diameter cartridge loads too fast. The PLX puts polypropylene depth media into a 114 mm outside diameter, in 10" and 20" lengths, rated 1 to 50 µm, for water and process lines with a heavy sediment load up to 80°C.
What is the minimum order and lead time?
The minimum order is 9 pieces and the lead time is 10 working days. Send your housing model and duty so the quote reflects the right micron grade and length.
